Welcome to the Island House
Our family friendly resort consists of six apartments, all with two bedrooms except for one which has one bedroom. There are three apartments downstairs and three upstairs (only a dozen steps).
The gulf front apartments are larger than the rest and they have a breathtaking view of the beach. All apartments have great views from the living area, kitchen, master bedroom, and even from the bathroom.
Every apartment has a queen size bed in the master (except #4 which has a king) and two single beds in the other bedroom. Each apartment comes with a full size kitchen, including a microwave, coffeemaker, and toaster. All linens, dishes, pots, and other necessities are provided for you. All you need is a beach towel, your bathing suit, some sunscreen, and just enjoy the water and the sun.
As you step on the sand, time stands still. Dolphins leap in the air while blue herons, egrets, and sandpipers mingle close by, loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay eggs, and baby turtles scurry from the nest to the water.
The gulf is mostly calm, safe, clear, and yields many treasures: sand-dollars, seahorses, and all kinds of small tropical fish. As you stroll on the beach you will find lots of prehistoric sharks' teeth and an amazing variety of seashells.
Manasota Key is a barrier island: unspoiled, pristine, breathtaking. It has no traffic lights, only a two lane road separating beautiful white sand beaches and Lemon Bay. There is easy access from Englewood to the island with two toll free bridges. The Island House sits on a wide stretch of private beach and provides the perfect place to rest comfortably at the end of a fun filled day.
Activities

There is great fishing right off the beach. Our guests have caught countless mackerel, tarpon, cobia, redfish, whiting, and blues. If you bring your boat, you can use one of the nearby ramps, or you can hop aboard a local charter boat to go after grouper and many other varieties of fish.
Tampa is 90 miles away; there you will find Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Tampa Bay Aquarium, and the Salvador Dali Museum. Orlando is 150 miles away; there you will find Disneyworld, Sea World, Universal Studios, and lots of other attractions.
Within walking distance there are restaurants (some offering live music), gift and convenience stores, and a beautiful boardwalk.
A short drive away, in Englewood, there are lots of golf courses, tennis courts, art galleries, parks, and nature trails. About 30 minutes away there is Venice, Port Charlotte, and Sarasota, which provide more shopping and cultural opportunities.
Available nearby are many places to rent bikes, kayaks, jet skis, and other water crafts.
